I'm pretty mainstream fiction. I write erotica, but not under my real name. I was in the library last night and stumbled upon a "romance" novel. I only use quotes because honestly, I don't want to classify her beautiful writing as "romance" because it gives it a trashy name.

Anyway, I picked the book up and thought, well I'll read this. It looked interesting and I liked that she titled her series The Nauti Boys. I'm talking about romance writer, Lora Leigh. Before last night, I'd never heard of her before.

As of right now, not only did I devour the book I picked up last night (yes I'm done with it), I absolutely loved it and now have the other two in the series sitting here and I'm about 20 pages in on one of them.

They have a dominant male, and a strong willed, rebellious female in each of the books. Delicious... loved it from the start. Plus, sprinkled throughout the book were all these references to "Your going to get a spanking", etc. OMG! I love Lora Leigh!!

Makes me more certain that I can totally write books like this and that they would be well received. Lora, if you ever get to read this - I absolutely adore your writing style, your characters and their stories. Simply beautiful.

They remind me of a relationship from a few years ago....
Never mind. I'm not supposed to go there.

I am seriously worrying that I might have bitten off more than I can chew with this whole writing 50,000 words in flippin' 30 days.

It isn't that I cannot do it, but I signed up both as Kellyn and my main author name to do two. That's 100,000 words. I don't think I can do that. Plus it's amazingly hard to bounce back and forth between stories. I've been trying to work on them every other day. First day, "non erotic", second day "erotic", third day "non erotic" and so on.

I'm at 22,308 on my non-erotic.
I'm at 14, 274 on my erotic.

Today, I'm supposed to be at 26,000 for both! Yeah. Not so much.

I'm signing up for NaNoWriMo this year. It starts today.

Crazy people write non-stop (okay maybe not) for 30 days and the desired output is 50,000 words by the end of the month.

Seems like a great way to work on another book for my erotic spanking series.

So that's what I'm going to be doing in November. I'm sure I will check in from time to time.

Now setting a daily word goal sure would be fun if I had someone who would make sure I met the daily word goal. And if I didn't..... wonder what would happen? *sigh* Who am I kidding? Probably nothing around here. LOL

I'm working on an erotic novel. I love the way it is going, but I thought it might be cool if I turned it into a series of books. Well, not necessarily a series, but several books on spanking.

They have a very erotic tone and no spanking would be what we see on the 'net, but I'm wondering - are there books out there like that - that are any good?

I mean the primarily spanking stories. I just figured I'd write romance style books with a very erotic tone, some spanking and lots of sex. Can you get any better than that?

I'm thinking about joining National Novel Writing Month in November. I have already for a mainstream fiction story I'm working on, but ahhhh erotica. That would be something really juicy and fun to work on for a month.
